With national Female Football Week 2026 running from Friday, May 8 through until Sunday, May 17, all female games were played in Albury on the Saturday.
Both the Cobram Roar FC U14 girls and Division 2 Women teams had Byes this weekend, so all were full of energy for a fun intra-club match on the main field in the middle of the day.
This game saw some seasoned and retired players return to the field and deliver an enjoyable spectacle for the large crowd on the day - all buoyed by a complimentary sweet and savoury grazing table for all females associated with the club to coincide with Mother’s Day.

Cobram started brightly, with two early goals from Elijah Koroi working his magic on the left wing. Not to be outdone, Ryder Middleton joined the goal scoring action too, with a delightfully taken goal.
Cobram’s defence supported the team’s efforts well, with a high level of skill and fancy footwork on display in the face of some attacking pressure from Myrtleford on occasion, with a couple of good saves from Roar’s goal keeper, Danny Ryan, maintaining a clean sheet.
Ashton Stanyer contributed another goal before half time, to see the team go into the break four goals to the good. Another four goals were added in the second half - Elijah finding the net twice more, with additional goals from Judd Parker and Keegan Richmann to round off another commanding attacking performance by the under-12 boys in black. A late penalty save from Ryan capped off a convincing result.

Cobram Roar bounced back in style on the weekend, securing an impressive 3-0 win over Myrtleford to claim its first victory in two matches.
Playing at home, the Roar set the tone early and were rewarded in the first half when Gurhar Singh found the back of the net to give Cobram a deserved lead heading into the break.
The home side lifted another gear in the second half, with Knox Leonard proving the difference in attack. Leonard struck twice after half time to seal the convincing win and cap off a strong team performance.
While the forwards delivered in front of goal, goalkeeper Owen Stubbs was equally influential at the other end of the pitch. Stubbs produced a series of outstanding saves throughout the match, denying Myrtleford on multiple occasions and ensuring Cobram kept a clean sheet.

Clinical finishing from Myrtleford unstuck Cobram, which suffered its second 5-0 defeat in a row at home this Sunday.
Roar continued to employ their structure and dedication to teamwork throughout the game, which saw Ayden Burrows between the sticks again, following the suspension of the regular goal keeper from last week’s red card against Boomers.
One moment of joy for the team and unwavering support from the sidelines was an audacious attempt at an overhead kick by the ever-enthusiastic and athletic Menotti Vescio in the Myrtleford area, but he could not convert it on this occasion in front of three generations of the Vescio family.
Cobram Roar FC Senior Men 2-3 Myrtleford Savoy SC Senior Men
Cobram Roar’s Division 1 men suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, going down 3-2 at home to Myrtleford in a hard-fought contest.
Myrtleford took a 1-0 lead into half time before Kieran O'Donnell brought Roar level shortly after the break. The visitors responded to regain the lead at 2-1, however George Wiles equalised once again to make it 2-2.
After a run of injuries left Cobram without any substitutions, Roar were forced to play the final five minutes with 10 men. Myrtleford capitalised late, scoring the winner in the closing stages to hand Cobram its first defeat of the season.
