Travelling to the scene of its famous grand final victory at Moama Recreation Reserve on Saturday, Cobram showed no mercy to the Magpies in a blistering 29.10 (184) to 5.8 (38) victory that will send a shudder down the spine of the rest of the competition.
It became clear early that the Tigers were far and away the stronger side, and the quarter-time scores reflected that — Cobram having booted 7.3 (45) while restricting Moama to a solitary behind.
The Magpies tried stem the bleeding in the second term but their efforts proved futile, Cobram enjoying a 12.4 (76) to 1.3 (9) lead at the main break.

Cobram had saved its most devastating spell for the second half, however, and in the third term produced an overwhelming barrage.
With nine goals for the quarter, the Tigers brought up triple figures on the scoreboard as the lead crossed that same threshold, all while keeping the Magpies to two goals for the term to lead by 112 points at the final change, 21.7 (133) to 3.3 (21).
The final term was a procession as Cobram added the finishing touches to what was a complete show of strength, an eight-goal-to-two quarter seeing the final margin hit 146 points.

Ben Ryan kicked seven goals to take his tally to 31 for the year, the most of any player across the league, despite having played only five games, while Jack Murray, Jackson Trengove and Bodey Webb, the latter in only his third game of senior football and still playing under-17s, all booted four majors.

Best on ground honours went to Perry Lewis-Smith, the former VFL talent booting a goal while continuing his streak of being named in the best in every game this season, closely followed by Ryan, while Bowen Calogero (one goal), Murray, Tyron Baden (two goals) and Luke Collyer rounded out the best.
Jackson Trengove had another brilliant performance in the ruck, booting four goals in the massives Tigers win.

The win ensures the Tigers stay third after round six, one game behind Congupna and Numurkah, but with the chance to pounce this weekend as those two sides face each other.
First though, Cobram will have to overcome Tongala when they face off at Scott Oval this Saturday, the Blues travelling nicely at 3-2 and inside the top six with a healthy percentage after wins over Deniliquin, Moama and Nathalia.
