A Grade had a tough game battling it out across 4 quarters in undesirable conditions.
Awards
Club 1/Players Player: Em Lavis was phenomenal again in defence, providing the team with plenty of opportunity.
Canteen: Gracie Boyd was strong and contested all day, injecting speed and power into the mid court.
B Grade
Corowa Rutherglen 44 def Lavington 42
B Grade had a tight battle against the Lavington panthers this week.
It was a tussle from start to finish.
Down by 6 at the three-quarter break, they had to dig deep to find another gear and did, coming back relentlessly in their connection across court and smashing their way back into the game, winning by two goals after a 14-5 final quarter.
They remain leaders of the ladder for another week.
Awards
Club 1: Audrey Hogan was relentless in defence, leaving no stone unturned.
Origin Clothing: Alex Gniel took to the court showing composure and determination, sinking nine goals in little more than a quarter on court.
Canteen: Annalise Barlow was a rebounding superstar, ripping in many attacking rebounds and converting many of those into goals.
C Grade
Corowa Rutherglen 40 def by Lavington 41
The C Grade girls headed into the weekend's game against Lavington Panthers knowing it was going to be a hard-fought battle requiring a consistent four-quarter performance from every player.
With scores even for most of the match, they knew they had to give it everything all the way to the final whistle.
Ultimately, they fell short, going down by a goal.
Despite the result, it was an incredible performance by everyone, with plenty of positives to take away and build on for next time.
Awards
Club Award 1: Jemma Smith, the courageous captain, was once again outstanding, consistently a fantastic asset at the attacking end, and leading by example all game.
Club Award 2: Leah Keating had a fantastic game in defence, reading the play like a book, forcing numerous turnovers, and continually disrupting Lavington's attack with her seamless defensive efforts.
Club Award 3: Keeley Symonds put together an outstanding game in WD, showing great grit and determination; her ability to turn over the ball and back her teammates all game was invaluable.
Although the scoreboard didn't fall their way, they couldn't be prouder of the effort, determination, and fight shown by this group.
Under 17s
Corowa Rutherglen 15 def by Lavington 80
The girls put up a strong fight against undefeated Lavington, but unfortunately couldn’t come away with the win.
Their determination, resilience, and never give up attitude was on display all game.
After a great effort from everyone, they’re looking forward to taking on North Albury this week.

Under 15s
Corowa Rutherglen 21 def by Lavington 46
Despite the result, Corowa Rutherglen’s Under 15s delivered a strong performance against Lavington, showcasing determination and teamwork from start to finish.
The side’s incredible full-court defensive pressure continually challenged their opponents and created valuable turnover opportunities.
Another highlight was the team’s ability to patiently reset the ball to the line, maintaining possession and building attacking momentum.
While the scoreboard didn’t fall their way, the girls demonstrated great composure, effort, and resilience throughout the contest.
Awards
Sportspower: Zahli DeMamiel had a great day in both defence and attack, delivering a strong 60 minute performance.
Thrive: Elera Keys was tenacious in attack, working very hard.
Canteen: Harriet Way demonstrated continued development, getting better each week in the midcourt.
