Amy Carter carrying her daughter, April through a guard of honour as she plays her 300th game at Strathmerton, all played at the one club. Picture: Bruce McKean.

Strathmerton played Jerilderie on the weekend.

●A-grade: won 62-48.

We started strongly but the match-ups weren’t quite right.

After a few adjustments we had a strong second quarter but we found it hard to bring the ball down out of defence in the third.

The last quarter saw Jerilderie get within five goals but a fantastic effort from our attackers gave us a 14-goal win.

Awards: Amy Carter, Georgina McCracken, Carri Carter.

Congratulations to Amy Carter who played her 300th senior game on the weekend.

Amy is an extremely valued and loyal member of our club, having played and coached in many premierships as well as taken on other volunteer roles throughout the club.

What a fantastic achievement Amy, we’re all so proud of you and we’re glad you came away from the day with not only a team win but also winning the best-on-court mug too.

You’ve got at least another 300 games in you.

●B-grade: won 60-28.

A great win to finish off the home and away season and a real confidence boost coming into finals.

Our defence created plenty of turnovers and our goalers moved well, were patient and used the ring to convert the turnovers into goals.

Congratulations to Chook on her debut in B-grade and thanks to Molly Coburn for playing.

Awards: Nin, Nic, Kaz, Chook.

●C-grade: lost 26-40.

What a great way to end the season, such a fun game with all the girls having a crack in different positions.

Amy, our star C, blitzed it in goals while Kez and Nae both made it back from injury for one last run.

Not the season that we were hoping for but after four major injuries leaving us short we are just thankful to all that helped fill in. To Kez and Nic thanks for such a great season with lots of laughs.

Awards: The whole team.

●C-reserve: no game.

●Under-17: won 45-41.

We knew that this week was going to be a very tough match going up against the undefeated Jerilderie. Our girls gave it their all from the very first whistle and were up for most of the game.

They really showed how well they could work together as a team and how much they’ve improved from the start of the season.

They’re looking forward to showing off their skills and teamwork in the finals.

●Under-15: no game.

●Under-13: lost 1-26.

Bad luck girls, today just wasn’t our day! You have all come so far since the beginning of the season and I’m very proud of you all.

Awards: Mikayla Kelly, Caitlin Knight, Jaella Coghill Lynam.
