A cold and damp morning set the scene as our Cobram Black boys hit the road for another away game.
The cold weather, wet ground and heavy ball made for a slow start, with both teams taking a little while to warm into the game. But once the first goal went in from a free kick, the energy lifted instantly and the boys never looked back.
With some classy passing, fancy footwork and strong teamwork across the field, Cobram controlled the game well. Meanwhile, the bench was as entertaining as ever - equal parts encouragement, expert coaching advice and complete chaos.
The boys finished with a dominant 6-0 win and plenty to be proud of after a great team performance.
Wodonga Heart FC Under 12 Boys Black 0-8 Cobram Roar FC Under 12 Boys Yellow
Cobram Roar under-12 Yellow Boys continued their dominant season with a commanding 8-0 victory over Wodonga Heart FC at Willow Park in cold, wet and rainy conditions on Sunday.
The heavy ball and slippery surface did little to slow down the Roar, who controlled the game from start to finish, with disciplined football and relentless pressure all over the pitch.
Captain for the day, Nate Hemingway, led from the front in a best-on-ground performance, scoring two goals while constantly driving the ball forward and appearing everywhere he was needed across the pitch.
Cobram’s attacking power was on full display, with Nathanael Sutton and Amir Mohamed both scoring two goals each, while Billy Daniel and Frankie Lean also added their names to the scoresheet.
After heading into half time with a commanding 4-0, their dominance continued in the second half, adding a further 4 goals to seal the 8-0 result.
In defence, Bede Schwarz was unstoppable, refusing to let a single ball past him and helping maintain another clean sheet for the side.
The technical improvement within the squad continues to shine through each week, with the intense training standards set by coaches Michael Davies and Alfonso Santoro helping to turn the Cobram side into a well-oiled machine.
With confidence high and teamwork continuing to improve, the young Roar boys are proving to be one of the competition’s standout teams this season.
Albury Hotspurs SC Under 13 Boys Gold 3-7 Cobram Roar FC Under 13 Boys
Cobram Roar under-13 Boys delivered a strong team performance on Sunday, securing a comfortable 7-3 victory over Albury Hotspurs Gold in challenging wet conditions.
Despite the slippery surface the Roar boys adapted brilliantly, playing controlled soccer and working hard for each other across the field. Their teamwork and communication were on display from the opening whistle, with players combining well in attack and supporting one another in defence.
The wet weather did little to slow the boys down, with every player contributing to an excellent all-round team performance. Leading goal scorer with three on the board was Carter Haddrell, with Cooper Charles, Alex Pepper, Jack Watkins and Sebastian Mancini all contributing to the comfortable win with one each.
It was a great result for Cobram Roar under-13s and another encouraging step forward for the developing young side.
Albury City FC Under 14 Girls 1-7 Cobram Roar FC Under 14 Girls
Cobram Roar under-14 Girls travelled to face Albury City this weekend in challenging wet conditions, delivering an outstanding performance full of skill, determination, and teamwork.
Cobram continued to build strong momentum throughout the match, with Alexis Stewart leading the attack with an impressive three goals. Mia Hayward added another two goals, while Mila Diaco and Indi Hemingway each contributed with a goal of their own.
The girls showed exceptional communication, composure, and control of the ball throughout the entire game, working together brilliantly as a united team. Their hard work and teamwork resulted in a dominant 7-1 victory over Albury City.
A fantastic effort by all the girls, keep up the amazing work.

Albury Hotspurs SC Under 16 Boys 6-0 Cobram Roar FC Under 16 Boys
A cold, rain-soaked early kick-off proved a difficult challenge for Cobram Roar on Sunday, with the side falling to a 0-6 defeat to a sharp and relentless Albury Hotspurs outfit.
From the opening whistle, the Hotspurs’ attacking pace caused problems for the Roar back line, with the visitors struggling to contain the movement and finishing ability of the opposition forwards. Despite moments of determination and hard work across the pitch, Cobram found it difficult to gain momentum in the slippery conditions.
The Hotspurs capitalised on their chances throughout both halves, using quick transitions and strong pressure to keep the Roar pinned deep in defence for long periods of the match.
To Cobram’s credit, the side continued to battle until the final whistle, showing resilience despite the difficult score line and challenging weather.
Among the brighter performances for the Roar were Holli Cameron and Jaire Serrano, who were recognised with the team’s player awards following strong individual efforts in trying circumstances.
Cobram Roar will now look to regroup quickly and turn their focus toward next week’s fixture as they aim to bounce back from a tough outing.
Albury City FC Division 2 Women 0-3 Cobram Roar FC Division 2 Women
The Cobram Roar Division 2 Women delivered an impressive performance on Sunday, securing a dominant 3-0 win after controlling possession for most of the match.
The Roar opened the scoring in the first half through Molly Kennedy, before Holli Cameron added a second to give the home side a comfortable lead heading into the break.
Cobram continued their strong team-oriented play in the second half, creating plenty of opportunities through excellent passing and teamwork. Demi Gemmill sealed the result with the side’s third goal after half time, capping off a polished performance from the Roar.
With strong possession and consistent pressure across the ground, the team’s teamwork and composure were key factors in the convincing victory.

Albury City FC Division 2 Men 6-0 Cobram Roar FC Division 2 Men
A challenging day on the field saw two players leave it injured, including stand-in goal keeper Menotti Vescio and striker Simon Flower.
In a first half that saw all of the goals scored, the second half display by Cobram provided a glimpse into what is possible by this group, as their renewed focus on structure and fantastic communication would have left any spectator wondering which team was actually in the lead.
A polished and free-flowing Albury City team were just too good for Cobram Roar over the 90 minutes.
Albury City FC Division 1 Men 5-2 Cobram Roar FC Division 1 Men
Cobram Roar faced a tough challenge on Sunday, going down 5-2 to competition leaders Albury City in wet and slippery conditions.
Coming up against the clear benchmark side of the competition was always going to be a difficult task, made even harder with Roar heavily undermanned due to injuries and unavailable players, leaving the side with only one fresh player available on the bench.
The home side started quickly, jumping out to an early lead before Bill Puckett got Cobram back into the contest midway through the first half to make it 2-1.
Albury City responded before the break to take a 3-1 advantage into half time, before extending the margin early in the second half.
Despite the difficult conditions and mounting fatigue, Cobram continued to battle hard for the full 90 minutes. George Wiles added Roar’s second goal late in the game after continued attacking pressure, with a delightful shot into the top corner across the face of the goal.
With limited rotations against the competition’s top side, the conditions and lack of fresh legs eventually took their toll as Albury City ran out 5-2 winners.
Cobram will take positives from the effort shown under difficult circumstances and will look forward to welcoming back some players in the coming weeks.
