Cobram boys Mack Holt, Luke Dunn and Dooley Quinane have returned home victorious after winning the School Sport Victoria Lawn Bowls Championships, finishing the tournament undefeated and securing the state title in Sunbury.
The 14-year-olds delivered a standout performance at the competition on Tuesday, May 5, representing Cobram Secondary College in the Hume Region Lawn Bowls tournament.
Competing against four different schools, the boys won all four preliminary games before moving on to the grand final against Vermont South, securing a win of 17-10.
Mack said they were “pretty happy” with the result and said the team’s mindset helped them succeed.
“If we had a bad bowl, we would just forget about it and keep going,” he said.
Last year, the team only won one game, making this year’s unbeaten run a major improvement.
The team thanked coaches Hadyn and Greg for their support throughout the tournament.
Cobram Secondary College has praised the boys’ achievements, with positive messages also shared by the local community online.
