To mark the occasion, each NCN Health campus hosted a morning tea celebration, with staff also sharing photos of nurses and midwives at work across the organisation, in recognition of their contribution.
This year’s theme was Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives, highlighting the importance of creating safe and supportive workplaces where nurses are empowered to lead, grow and deliver high-quality care to patients, residents and communities.
NCN Health chief executive Mark Ashcroft said the days provided an important opportunity to acknowledge the compassion, professionalism and commitment shown by nurses and midwives across the organisation.
“Every day, our staff make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients, residents and families throughout our communities,” he said.
“This year’s theme reflects the importance of supporting and empowering our nursing workforce so they can continue to provide quality care now and into the future.”
Mr Ashcroft also acknowledged the broader NCN Health workforce, recognising the collective efforts of all staff.
“Standing beside every nurse and midwife is a dedicated team of support staff who help keep our services running each day — from administration and environmental services to food services, maintenance, finance and IT,” he said.
“Together, every role contributes to strong and connected health services for our communities.”
