The event, organised by the Goulburn Region Preschool Association, will see children from kindergartens across Moira Shire gather at the Katamatite Recreation Reserve on Wednesday, May 20.
Tambo, who rose to national attention after his bilingual Gamilaraay-English performance of You’re The Voice on Australia's Got Talent, will read from his book I AM ME, perform songs and speak with children about identity, belonging and confidence.
The visit came about after Katamatite kindergarten teacher Jacquie Monk discovered Tambo was touring the region and approached GRPSA about bringing him to the small rural community.
“It’s so exciting to think about giving our country kids the chance to connect with such a cool superstar who represents and celebrates the First Culture of our land,” Ms Monk said.

“At Katamatite, we’re so proud of our strong Bush Kinder program and embracing all cultures — just like so many other GRPSA-run services across Moira Shire.”
Children from Barmah, Eilleen Taylor, Katamatite, Strathmerton, Nathalia, Punt Rd, Tungamah, Yarrawonga and McLean St kindergartens are expected to attend.
GRPSA chief executive Ronni Druitt said it was an “amazing opportunity” for the region.
“These types of excursions are so important for extending learning outside the classroom,” she said.
Tambo released his debut album in 2016 and rose to national prominence in 2019 as a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent.
He has since earned multiple award nominations, including two Golden Guitar nods for his collaboration Come Together with Lee Kernaghan and Isaiah Firebrace.
Ms Monk also thanked Katamatite Recreation Reserve and Moira Shire Council for supporting the event.
