The quilts have been donated through the Cobram Community House, with residents impacted by the fire invited to visit the centre and choose a quilt of their own.
Cobram and District Quilters Club president Margaret Andrew said the group wanted to support local families during a difficult time.
“The Yarroweyah fires and the people who lost their homes was really devastating,” she said.
“We like to support people in our area, and we feel that the people affected by the Yarroweyah fires have been forgotten a bit.”
For the quilting group, giving back to the community is nothing new.
The club has been operating for around 33 years and regularly make quilts to donate to worthy causes.
Quilts are donated to GV Family Care regularly and the group has previously made quilts for communities affected by the Corryong fires and Rochester floods.
Ms Andrew said the group was built on friendship, encouragement and a shared passion for quilting.
“We are a lovely and lively lot of ladies who enjoy coming together and sharing stories and fun,” she said.
“It’s all about the friendship, encouragement, building skills and learning. Everyone brings their own set of skills, interests and personality to the group, and that’s always good.”
The club began at the Cobram Community House before outgrowing the space and relocating to the Yarroweyah Hall, where its 40 members now meet once a month.
While the quilts provide warmth and comfort, the donation is a reminder that the Yarroweyah community has not been forgotten.
