The Benalla Suicide Prevention and Awareness Network will once again host it’s annual walk across the Monash Bridge in Benalla, providing an opportunity for people to walk together, raise awareness and show support for those who have been affected by suicide.
A BSPAN spokesperson said the walk will begin at 11am at the Benalla Library, with participants making their way across the bridge before completing a half walk around the lake.
“Following the walk, everyone is invited to share some time together over a sausage sizzle. It is a chance to connect with others, enjoy some friendly company and be part of a caring and supportive community,” the spokesperson said.
“For those who have taken part in previous years, the event has become a meaningful opportunity to return, remember and reconnect.
“For anyone attending for the first time, you will be warmly welcomed.
“Whether you come to remember someone you have lost, to support a friend or family member, or simply to stand alongside your community, everyone is welcome.
“BSPAN encourages the Benalla community to come along, walk together and help the conversation about suicide awareness and support going.”
