The masterplan will establish the long-term vision and priorities to guide future investment and decision-making at Thompsons Beach.
Drawing on previous studies, site analysis and investigations, along with early community and stakeholder feedback, six ‘Key Moves’ have been developed to guide discussion about what Thompsons Beach could look like into the future.
Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said the community’s input would be central to shaping the site’s future.
“Thompsons Beach is a much-loved destination for our community and visitors alike, and it’s important that its future is shaped by the people who use and value it most,” he said.
“We’re sharing our Key Move diagrams and questions to spark discussion about how Thompsons Beach is used today, what people value most, and where the opportunities lie for the future.
“I’d encourage everyone with a connection to Thompsons Beach to have a look, test these ideas, and help us understand what should be prioritised and what should be explored further.”
Dr Emonson said the feedback gathered during the engagement period would directly inform the next stage of the masterplan's development.
Community members can review the Key Move diagrams and provide feedback online until Sunday, September 27.
Drop-in sessions and in-focus conversations will be held from Wednesday, September 16 to Saturday, September 19 at various locations in Cobram, where community members can view the diagrams and speak with the project team in person.

The Thompsons Beach Masterplan has been funded through the Federal Government's Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program for design only.
No funding currently exists for the implementation of any works identified through the masterplan.
