The league leader entered Saturday’s round 19 encounter two wins clear of second-placed Mulwala and ensured it could not be caught with another commanding performance at Moama Recreation Reserve.
Cook was at the heart of Nathalia’s flying start, remarkably scoring her side’s first 25 goals of the contest before Erin Wishart became its second player to find the net.
The star shooter struck the opening three goals and continued to punish Moama throughout the first half, helping Nathalia establish an 18-9 advantage at the opening change.
Moama’s Imogen Phillips and Hannah Swatton attempted to keep the home side in touch, but Cook’s accuracy and Nathalia’s supply into the circle proved difficult to contain.
The Purples extended their lead to 31-17 by half-time, with Cook responsible for 30 of those goals as Nathalia took firm control of proceedings.
Moama made several positional changes in an effort to alter the course of the game, but the visitors continued to pull away after the main break.
With the indomitable Laura Cole leading by example, Nathalia eventually doubled its opponent’s score, adding another 49 goals during the second half to complete a resounding 39-goal victory.
The result lifted the Purples to a 16-1 record and 64 points, eight clear of Mulwala with only one home-and-away round remaining.
Nathalia will complete its regular season against Cobram next weekend before turning its attention towards the finals and the pursuit of the premiership.
Mulwala suffered a heavy defeat in its penultimate home-and-away fixture, going down 77-43 to Deniliquin Rams at Hardinge Street Oval.
Despite the loss, Mulwala remained second on 56 points, four clear of third-placed Tongala, which had the bye.
Rumbalara strengthened its position inside the top four after edging out Numurkah 55-50 at Numurkah Showgrounds.
The five-goal victory moved Rumba level with Moama on 48 points, with its superior percentage placing it fourth heading into the final round. Numurkah remained sixth following its ninth defeat of the campaign.
Cobram prevailed in the closest contest of the round, holding off Finley to record a 38-33 win at Scott Reserve.
The Tigers collected their fourth victory of the season and moved onto 18 points, while Finley remained 10th with two wins.
Echuca United also returned to winning ways with a convincing 49-24 triumph over winless Congupna at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
Tongala had the round 19 bye.
