The Cobram Roar under-12 Black side secured a thrilling 1-0 victory over St Pats FC in a hard-fought clash packed with skill, teamwork, and determination.
The winning moment came in the first half after a brilliant attacking play down the right wing. A perfectly placed cross was driven into the box, before being powerfully headed into the back of the net, sending the Cobram Roar supporters into a roaring celebration.
Cobram impressed throughout the match with outstanding teamwork, sharp passing, and excellent foot skills that kept St. Pats under constant pressure. The attacking unit created multiple chances on goal with relentless forward pressure and strong link-up play that tested the St. Pats defence all game.
Defensively, Cobram was rock solid. The backline held firm under pressure while the goalkeeper produced several spectacular saves to deny St. Pats any chance of equalising. It was a complete team performance from Cobram, with the side showing confidence, composure, and determination from the opening whistle right through to full time.

Cobram Roar under-12 Yellow returned to action in style today with an impressive 8-1 victory over St. Pats FC, overcoming a slow opening half to produce an outstanding second-half performance.
Leading the side today was captain Uday Singh, who took the armband from his position between the posts and helped organise the team throughout the match.
After a two-week break, Roar took some time to settle into the game. Passing lacked its usual sharpness early and momentum going forward was difficult to maintain as the boys searched to find their rhythm.
Despite the slow start, Frankie Lean opened the scoring with an early goal to give Cobram the lead. St. Pats responded well and levelled the game from a free kick to make it 1-1.
Roar began to build confidence as the half progressed, with Cooper Daniel finding the back of the net before Bede Schwarz struck right on the half time whistle to send Cobram into the break leading 3-1.
With regular coaching arrangements interrupted, fill-in coach Josh Grant stepped in for the day and delivered a strong half time message. His honest feedback, combined with clear instruction around positioning and identifying areas the boys were struggling in, sparked an immediate response.
The second half was a completely different story.
Cobram came out with energy and intent, with Nate Hemmingway leading the charge and scoring early. From there the goals continued to flow through Billy Daniel, Jackson Hall, Frankie Lean and Nathanael Sutton adding another to cap off a dominant team performance.
The Roar boys looked back to their best with clean passing, strong positioning, and excellent movement across the park.
A special mention goes to Cooper Daniel, who was awarded best on ground after a standout all-round performance.

Boomers FC under-14 girls White 1-2 Cobram Roar FC under-14 girls
The Cobram Roar under-14 girls took on Boomers FC White in a tough and competitive match. Cobram started strongly with Evie Hemingway opening the scoring to give the Roar an early lead. Boomers fought back to level the scores, setting up a tense contest.
With the game hanging in the balance, Alexis Stewart stepped up to score the decisive goal, putting Cobram back in front and ultimately securing the win for the Roar.
It was a hard-fought match from start to finish, with Cobram showing determination and resilience under pressure. Rose Wiles was outstanding in goals, making several crucial saves and shutting down multiple Boomers attacks to keep her side in the game.
The girls dug deep, worked hard for each other, and ground out a well-earned victory in what was a very challenging game.
St Pats under-14 boys 2-0 Cobram Roar FC under-14 boys
The Cobram Roar under-14 boys put in a determined performance on the road but were unable to find the back of the net, going down 2-0 to St Pats in a hard-fought encounter.
Despite the final score line, the Roar matched their opponents for large periods of the game and created several promising opportunities. Unfortunately, they were unable to convert their chances, with St. Pats making the most of theirs to secure the victory.
Cobram showed great resilience and teamwork throughout the match, working tirelessly in both attack and defence. The boys continued to press forward and create scoring opportunities but were denied by strong defending and some missed chances in front of goal.
The result was a disappointing one for the Roar, but the effort and commitment displayed by the entire squad could not be questioned. The team will take plenty of positives from their performance as they look to bounce back in their next fixture.
Cobram Roar FC under-16 boys 3-5 Wodonga Heart FC under-16 boys
On a cold and foggy morning, Cobram Roar FC showed tremendous character but ultimately went down 3-5 to Wodonga Heart FC in an entertaining contest.
The visitors from Wodonga came out firing, taking control of the match with three first-half goals to leave the Roar facing a mountain to climb at the break.
Cobram refused to surrender, and their fightback began in the 56th minute when Knox Leonard found the back of the net to give the home side hope. Just a minute later, Bosco Su struck in the 57th minute, cutting the deficit further and bringing the Roar faithful to life.
However, Wodonga Heart responded with two more goals to regain control and open up a commanding advantage. Despite the setback, the Roar continued to push forward, and Bosco Su grabbed his second goal of the morning in the 64th minute to complete his brace.
Though the final whistle confirmed a 5-3 defeat, Cobram Roar FC could hold their heads high after a spirited display. The team battled hard throughout the morning and never gave up despite the difficult conditions and an early three-goal deficit.
Bosco Su's two-goal performance and Knox Leonard's strike highlighted the determination shown by the Roar, who will now look to regroup and bounce back in their next outing.
St Pats FC division two women 1-5 Cobram Roar FC division two women
Cobram Roar division two Women produced a dominant display on the weekend, defeating St. Pats 5-1 with a clinical attacking performance led by four-goal scorer Holli Cameron.
The Roar made the perfect start, with Holli opening the scoring in just the third minute to give Roar an early advantage. Cobram continued to press and were rewarded again in the 24th minute when Casey Chandler found the back of the net to double the lead.
Holli struck again just two minutes later, before completing a remarkable first-half hat-trick in the 29th minute as Cobram surged to a commanding 4-0 lead heading into the break.
St. Pat's responded in the second half and managed to pull a goal back, but Cobram remained composed and continued to create chances. Holli capped off an outstanding individual performance by scoring her fourth goal of the match to seal a convincing 5-1 victory.
Cobram's strong team effort and attacking firepower ultimately proved the difference as they secured another impressive win.

An entertaining match ended in excitement, as Cobram secured victory with the last kick of the game.
Led again by captain Seb Adnams, Cobram played some excellent football during a close first half, which saw St Pats go into the break a goal to the good following a set piece situation from the right-hand side.
A half time talk of encouragement disappeared within the first few minutes of the second half, as Cobram saw themselves further behind following a goal mouth scramble.
This was the turning point in the match, as Cobram continued with their attacking display, which eventually yielded results. Luke Kalz scored a composed goal in the 42nd minute, which ignited the Roar’s enthusiasm. Adding to this and leading by example, Seb Adnams scored with a composed header from a corner, setting up a thrilling end to the match.
Despite their warnings, Alfonso Santoro and Michael Davies attracted the attention of the referee, picking up yellow cards as they sought to stifle the St. Pats’ attacks.
With continued attacking pressure in the final third, Cobram finally got the winning goal, with Jake Kalz confidently slotting the ball to side of the St. Pats’ goal keeper in the last action of the game.
An excellent win away from home for Coram Roar’s Division 3 side, who are starting to gel at an important part of the season.

Cobram Roar secured an important point on the road with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against St Pats on Sunday.
In a tightly contested match, both sides had their opportunities, but strong defensive efforts and disciplined team structures ensured neither side could find a way through. The Roar backline stood firm throughout the 90 minutes to record a valuable clean sheet away from home.
While Cobram would have preferred all three points, the draw keeps the Roar inside the top eight and strengthens their position as the race for finals spots heats up.
The side showed plenty of determination away from home and will take confidence from the result as they prepare for the challenges ahead. With several important matches still to come, every point is proving crucial, and this hard-earned draw could be an important one come season's end.
