Thousands of people took to the streets in 27 cities and towns across Australia on Sunday, including in Sydney's Hyde Park, where organisers estimated 5000 people gathered before marching through the city centre.
The mood of the crowd was sombre as attendees expressing clear frustration with state and federal Labor governments.
"We're out here because we can't forgive or forget the three years of massacres and the many decades before that as well that Israel has been allowed to get away with," Palestine Action Group's Yasmine Johnson told AAP.
"We want to draw attention to it and keep remembering those people and fighting for the living."
Addressing attendees, Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi criticised her fellow politicians and the media for their attempts to stifle pro-Palestine protests and speech.
"The establishment would want us to stay home today and every single day for the last three years," she said.
Speaking to AAP, Senator Faruqi stressed the importance of continuing to show up for Palestine.
"As we mark three years of this genocide today with rallies around Australia, we reflect on the complicity of the Australian Labor government, who has sat on their hands for three years," she said.
"They have not sanctioned Israel. They have not stopped military trade, and they have literally done nothing to stop the genocide.
"But you can see thousands of people here today are saying they are not going to stop. They will hold your civil government account, and they are demanding change."
Israel's assault on Gaza followed Hamas's attack on October 7, 2023 that left about 1200 people dead.
Another 251 were taken hostage by the Gaza-based militant group, which Australia and its allies designate a terrorist organisation.
More than 74,000 people have been killed and 175,000 wounded in Israeli bombardments, according to Palestinian health officials.
Melbourne surgeon Bushra Othman, who has undertaken three medical missions to Gaza, spoke about the targeting of Palestinian healthcare workers.
"Palestinians are walking down Salah al-Din Road and being shot at by Israeli tanks," she said.
"Ambulances are being prevented from reaching them."
Dr Othman said there was no ceasefire in Gaza - a reference to a deal between Israel and Hamas announced in October 2025 - adding the term was being used to divert attention away from the ongoing destruction.
Australian of the Year Grace Tame, who has previously come under fire for her comments about the conflict, told the crowd her support was about "stopping the violence".
Allon Uhlmann, a member of Jews Against the Occupation, said he was marching to show that members of the Jewish community were as outraged as anyone about the assaults on Palestinians.
"We are actually with you and we're standing in solidarity with everybody else," he said.
