The Department of Health and Human Services reported a new active case of COVID-19 in the shire on Tuesday, August 4, but by Friday afternoon had officially reclassified the case.
NCN Health confirmed the positive case was not tested in the Moira Shire and the person lived outside of the region on Thursday night.
Yarrawonga Health issued a statement to confirm the person was tested in Melbourne and was not residing or self-isolating in the region on Friday morning.
The case temporarily brought the total number of cases recorded in the region to 12, but it has now been returned to 11.
A NCN Health spokesperson said it was a timely reminder of the importance of getting tested for COVID-19, even if your symptoms are very mild.
“It is equally important that you self-isolate in your home or accommodation while you wait for your test results,” the spokesperson said.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include any one of the following - cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever or chills, loss of the sense of smell, loss of the sense of taste, fatigue or tiredness for no identified reason.
In Greater Shepparton, active case numbers have started to climb with a total of 16 positive cases as of Wednesday, according to Goulburn Valley Health.
GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp confirmed seven of the active cases are related to the Shepparton Villages outbreak.
These cases include two staff members, four close contacts of the staff members who are not employed at Shepparton Villages and one resident at Maculata Place.
This outbreak includes a student from Greater Shepparton College with the college's Wanganui campus re-opening on Wednesday after DHHS concluded the student was not infectious while at school.
A second outbreak including five active cases is linked to Unilever's Tatura factory.
There is one other community outbreak that has two active cases and a further two separate active cases that are not linked.
First Choice Liquor Shepparton, Aquamoves Shepparton and AHS Tatura Pharmacy have all confirmed an employee had tested positive.
An inpatient at GV Health with the virus has died.
Mr Sharp said this person was not from the local area, and was therefore not included in Greater Shepparton's active case tally.
Campaspe has two active cases and Indigo has one while Berrigan, Benalla and Wangaratta have no cases.
