Passed peacefully into God’s care at Cairns Base Hospital on 14 July 2026, aged 80 years.
Much loved father of Carmel and Stuart. Adored grandfather of Amoy and Jack.
Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Frank & June, Verdi & Graham, Anne & Peter, Marian & Paul, Carmel & Jeff, Phillip & Lynda, Kevin & Fiona, and a much-loved uncle to their families.
Devoted companion of Mary Oliver and a treasured friend to many.
A Requiem Mass celebrating Tom’s life will be held at 10.00 am on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, at
St Monica’s Cathedral, Cairns, followed by interment at Forest View Cemetery, Mount Sheridan.
The family sincerely thanks the doctors, nurses and staff of Cairns Base Hospital for the care, compassion and kindness shown to Tom throughout his extended illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory to the Cancer Council would be greatly appreciated.
