Revenge has never tasted so sweet for the Barooga youth girls, who on the weekend claimed victory over Shepparton United.

In a low-scoring contest that came down to a dramatic five point finale at Barooga Recreation Reserve, the young Hawks suffered an early blow off the boot of United’s Lacey Wellington, ending the first term seven points behind their Shepparton opponents.

Despite repeated onslaughts from United, Barooga hung on to the game until a major in the fourth term put the Hawks ahead.

The final siren called an end to a match that saw Barooga claim a 2.4 (16) - 1.5 (11) recompense over United.

Mereani Lecanadau and Chloe Rorato were the standouts for Barooga, booting a major each.

Meanwhile, Barooga’s senior women struggled to make the most out of its chances in front of goal when its met its southern counterparts.

A single major from Claudia Leighton-Daly wasn’t enough to get the Hawks over the line, finishing the round 12 contest with a defeat on 1.0 (6) - 8.11 (59).
