Echuca product Ollie Wines will play a 15th season at Port Adelaide after signing a contract extension with the club on Monday.

Wines entered the AFL in 2012 after being taken with pick seven at the national draft from the Bendigo Pioneers.
The 31-year-old midfielder has become a fan favourite during his time in Alberton, particularly in 2021 when he was a Brownlow medallist, All-Australian and the club’s best-and-fairest.
Wines outlined his reasons behind deciding to play on next year in an interview with Port’s media team, with the 31-year-old also a chance of reaching his 300-game milestone in 2027.
“It's probably been something I've thought about throughout the year, and at times I’ve doubted whether I want to play more football,” Wines said.
“But there probably came a point in the middle of the season where I really felt like I fell in love with the process that the club's on at the moment, and we've got so many young and emerging players coming into our team.”
Wines had a solid year under new coach Josh Carr, averaging 21.8 disposals, 9.2 contested possessions and 3.4 clearances across 19 games.
In other AFL news, Cohuna’s Josh Treacy recently earned a maiden All-Australian selection after having a stellar 2026 for minor premier Fremantle.
Treacy finished seventh in the race for the Coleman Medal after booting 54 goals in the home-and-away season.
He proved a handful for opposition defenders with his contested marking ability, ranking first in the competition in this metric with 47.

The forward is currently preparing for the Dockers’ huge qualifying final against Hawthorn this Thursday night, looking to be a part of a deep finals run that could see Freo win its maiden premiership.
Brodie Kemp is another local product who will be in post-season action this weekend, the Echuca native’s Carlton side taking on Geelong in an elimination final on Friday night.
The Blues progressed after a thrilling 19-point win over Melbourne in last week’s wildcard final.
Kemp was influential in the victory, having 14 disposals, taking 10 marks, and registering seven score involvements, which included a goal.
The other wildcard game saw Collingwood’s Lachie Schultz, a Moama product, knocked out of premiership contention after his side went down to the Western Bulldogs by three points.
Schultz had 14 touches, laid six tackles, and recorded four score involvements as the Magpies lost on the siren following Tim Membrey’s missed set-shot.
