Tri State Games a ‘total triumph’

The Tri State Games, which offers an opportunity for people with a significant or profound disability to participate in sporting activities, included a swag of different sports.

Participants contested for medals in track and field, swimming, team sports and indoor sports across the week-long event.

Event organisers were impressed by the support from the community and by all of the volunteers who made the games a possibility.

Tri State Games public officer Sean Harmes said it was one of the best games he had been involved in.

“This was an exceptional games, it was really heartening to see everyone doing their bit to support the event,” Harmes said.

“It was a feel good week as we haven’t had a games in a while, the [past] two years have been cancelled, so everyone was so excited to be back.

“It was a total triumph and we can’t wait until next year to do it all again.”
