The wind blew from all directions and gusted up throughout the round but there was no stopping winner Bob McAdam having the exceptional score of +5. McAdam said it was far and away his best round for some time.
Runner-up, showing good form at the right time, was Gary Bow with a mighty fine +4, beating home big event specialist Dean Brown, also on +4. Both golfers should be prominent in next week’s major event.
The nearest-the-pin prizes went to Wayne ‘the bullet’ Le Cerf with some sharp shooting on to the third, Don Hughes found the dance floor on the long eighth and Graeme Keogh not only reached the green but went oh so close on the 13th.
Next week’s golf is the Nagambie Golf Club’s biggest event, the open format Goulburn Cup four-ball best-ball par sponsored by Nagambie Rowing Club. It will be a 9am assemble for a 10am shotgun start. Entries can be forwarded to captains Ronda Richards on 0408 349 505 or David Love on 0419 672 442.
