Moama saw five of its sides qualify for deciders following the weekend’s semi-final results.
Meanwhile, Tongala will have at least two netball teams into the big dance, and Echuca United’s 13-and-under netballers also qualified.
Football
Reserves
A strong second half aided Moama in a comfortable 38-point win over Cobram in a grand final qualifier.
The Magpies only led 27-8 at half-time, but ramped up their efforts after the main break to pull away from the Tigers.
A strong third quarter saw Moama hold Cobram goalless while adding two goals to its total, putting it up by 32 entering the final term.
The Magpies would see out a 9.6 (60) to 3.4 (22) victory with another three majors in the fourth, as Jake Galpin and Josh Smith stood out by booting three goals apiece.
Under-17
Moama also defeated Cobram in a grand final qualifier in this division, winning by 26 points after only a goal separated the sides at half-time.
Dane Dickinson led the way with three majors as the Magpies triumphed 8.7 (55) to 4.5 (29).
Under-14
Echuca United won a second final to secure a preliminary final encounter against Cobram this weekend, with the Eagles disposing of Deniliquin Rams 9.9 (63) to 5.6 (36).
Netball
Tongala goal shooter Meg Brennan was in fine form for the Blues’ B-grade side, netting 56 goals in a grand final qualifier against Moama.
B-grade
Tongala was far too strong for Moama, winning a grand final qualifier between the two local sides by 39 goals.
The Blues were the better side early, opening up an 11-goal advantage by the end of the first period, before doubling down with devastating effect in the remaining three periods.
A 14-goal second quarter saw Tonny lead 33-15 at half-time, and it totally dominated the second half, outscoring Moama 35-14 after the main break to run out as a 68-29 winner.
Goal shooter Meg Brennan was sensational on the day, netting 56 times for the Blues.
Tongala could face the Magpies again in the grand final, though that is dependent on Moama getting past Mulwala in a preliminary match-up this weekend.
C-grade
Tongala won another grand final qualifier against Moama in C-grade, comfortably triumphing 46-28.
The Magpies will now take on Nathalia in a preliminary final after the Purples edged past Congupna in the other semi-final.
C-reserve
In another Tongala-Moama grand final qualifier, it was the Magpies who booked their spot in the big dance in this division, edging the previously undefeated Blues 37-32.
Tonny will now play Rumbalara in a preliminary encounter for the opportunity to set up a rematch on the final day of the season.
17-and-under
The remaining three sides in this division are all local, with Moama defeating Tongala 56-52 in a grand final qualifier, while Echuca United won a second post-season match by edging past Rumbalara 59-57.
As a result, the Eagles and Blues now meet in a preliminary final this weekend.
15-and-under
Moama booked its grand final place with a narrow 39-37 victory over Cobram.
In the other semi-final, Echuca United eliminated Tongala with a 31-27 triumph, meaning the Eagles will meet the Tigers in a preliminary match-up this weekend.
13-and-under
Echuca United is into the big dance after a 21-16 win over Cobram.
The Tigers will now play Moama in a preliminary final after the Magpies bested Mulwala 39-29 in the other semi-final.
