After a season that saw the club claim a second successive premiership in A-grade, and finish runner-up in B-grade and under-15s, president Manny Artavilla said he was excited for what 2025/26 holds for the Tigers.
“My original thought was a succession plan,” he said.
“The older group is getting on their older side of their careers, but it changed when Jimmy [Daniel] went back-to-back as captain.
“I don’t think anyone in the club has won three in a row. So there’s the opportunity for Jimmy to lead the club to a three-peat. He’s the right man to lead them.”
Captaining A-grade in a partnership of experience and youthful vigour will be Jimmy Daniel and Hugh Hyde.
Lachlan Hyde will return to the top grade coaching role, joined by club legend Adam Harwood.
“It’s good to have him back to work alongside Lachlan, who’s probably starting his coaching career,” Artavilla said.
“We’re pretty lucky at the club — it’s not only those four, but to have people behind them like Adam Decicco and Shaun Downie and Ribsy (Tyron Baden), there’s five or six guys who are really good leaders at the club.”
Artavilla will be joined at the helm of the club committee by vice-president Adam Decicco, secretary Sonia Betts and treasurer Noah Sneddon.
Artavilla confirmed Shaun Downie was committed to another season at the Tigers’ den.
“He will be ready to go at round one,” Artavilla said.

Downie turned the tables with his star performance in last year’s A-grade grand final, after Deniliquin looked close to taking the flag.
“He’s probably the greatest the club’s ever had, when they talk about legends,” Artavilla said.
“And to have him around the club, to see what he can do, it just inspires the next generation.
