The Corowa Sharks Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club farewelled long serving coach Robyn Moore last Friday evening, combining the occasion with the club’s annual Christmas Party.
Swimmers, club members and their families gathered to honour Robyn’s extraordinary contribution while celebrating the end of a big year for the club.
Club President Andi, who delivered the farewell speech on the night, said it was a fitting way to recognise Robyn’s legacy.
“Robyn’s impact on this club is immeasurable,” Andi said.
“She has been part of the Sharks family for nearly three decades, and for 25 years she has given her heart, time and energy to our swimmers.”
Robyn’s journey with the club began in 1998 when her sons Harrison and Edward joined as young swimmers.
From that moment, she became a constant presence, serving as a committee member for 27 years and stepping into the coaching role in 2000.

Over 25 years as coach, Robyn worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities, from beginners learning their first water skills to athletes progressing to state and national levels.
Her calm encouragement, patience and belief in every swimmer helped shape generations of local athletes.
Andi said Robyn’s influence went far beyond technical coaching.
“She didn’t just teach swimming,” she said.
“She taught confidence, resilience and belief. Robyn always saw potential in swimmers, often before they could see it themselves.”
Robyn guided the club through significant challenges, including the COVID years and the transition to the new Corowa Aquatic Centre, with periods of training relocated to Howlong.
Throughout these changes, her focus remained firmly on the wellbeing and development of the children.
Her impact extended well beyond the pool.
As a primary school teacher, Robyn has taught swimming at Corowa Public School, Corowa South Public School, St Mary’s Primary School and Mulwala Primary School, often being the first swimming teacher many local children ever had.
In recognition of her broader community service, Robyn was nominated for Citizen of the Year and Local Achiever in the 2020 Federation Council Awards.
She is also a founding member and conductor of Corowa Sing Australia, a Life Member of the Corowa Swimming Club, and a Life Member of the Corowa United Hockey Club, where she coached Minkey Hockey and served on the committee.
During her farewell speech, Robyn expressed her gratitude, acknowledging the support of her husband Brad and her two sons Harrison and Edward, members, past members, coaches and their families throughout her time with the club and commended the current committee and coaching team for their dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
She also wished the club continued success in providing strong sporting opportunities for young people across the district.
Looking ahead, the Corowa Sharks are focused on building a strong, sustainable and inclusive swimming program in 2026 and beyond.
The club is committed to supporting swimmers at the right level, at the right time, with clear pathways for development, regardless of the pathway each swimmer chooses to pursue.
The Sharks are welcoming new swimmers and families to join the club in 2026, along with anyone interested in becoming part of the club’s new coaching team, led by head coach David Lees.
As Robyn Moore steps into her next chapter, the Corowa Sharks move forward with gratitude for the foundation she has laid and confidence in a future built on strong values, clear pathways and a shared love of swimming.
