And Cobram Roar’s Division One women’s victory against Albury City was certainly the latter, with an 11-0 triumph.
The Roar took on opponents who this year returned to the top flight after a few years in the second tier.
The Roar had a strong mentality coming into this game, and it only took four minutes to open the scoring through captain Alyssa Iannucci, who scored her first of five for the day.
The women played an exceptional brand of football that was enjoyable to watch.
With a solid team effort, the goal of the day came from Francesca Zuccarello, who finished with a cracking first-time volley from a corner kick delivered into the box by Iannucci.
Zuccarello got her second goal and Hayley Burns also added to the scoreboard with two of her own, making it 9-0, but the Roar weren’t finished.
Casey Chandler came from between the posts to score from a corner delivered by Iannucci, and Laura Moras did the same moments later from another corner delivered by Iannucci.
The Roar were humble about their victory and displayed great professionalism while putting City to the sword.
An 11-0 score would make any coach thrilled, but according to Tanner Tekin, the team is taking it in its stride.
“We are just humble about it, to be honest,” Tekin said.
“It was good to get two wins in a row.”
Asked about the Roar’s chances when they face Wangaratta at South Wangaratta Reserve, Tekin said he was cautiously optimistic but didn’t take anything for granted.
“We are always hopeful, but we have a few players who will be missing the game due to unavailability,” he said.
“We will take the game as it comes. If we get a result we will be happy, if not, it will be a case of ‘see you next time’.”
Cobram Roar women currently sit sixth, while their male Division One counterparts sit eighth.
