Albury United SC Under 13 Boys 2-3 Cobram Roar FC Under 13 Boys
A tightly contested match saw the under-13s battle hard to secure a 3-2 win in an intense night time clash against Albury United.
A standout performance came from the team’s goalkeeper Zavier Kennedy, who delivered an exceptional effort between the posts. With multiple crucial saves, the keeper denied several scoring opportunities and played a key role in keeping the team in the game.
Goal scorers Carter Haddrell, Cooper Charles and Jack Watkins with one each contributed to the close win. Another solid team effort reflecting how hard the boys have worked in the season thus far.
Cobram Roar FC Under 14 Girls 5-0 Boomers FC Under 14 Girls White
The Cobram Roar under-14 Girls delivered an impressive performance under Friday night lights, defeating Boomers White 5-0 in a dominant display from start to finish.
Cobram controlled the opening half and went into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead before lifting the intensity again in the second half to add another three goals.
Leading the way in attack were Matoaka Kemper and Alexis Stewart, who each scored twice, while Evie Hemingway also found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
Cobram’s defence was equally impressive, working hard all game to shut down the Boomers attacking opportunities and limit their chances on goal. Goalkeepers Estelle Duggan and Mila Diaco combined well in goals with strong efforts to secure an outstanding clean sheet in a complete team performance.
The competition then moved to South Wangaratta Reserve on Sunday for Round 10:
Wangaratta City FC Under 12 Boys Black 0-5 Cobram Roar FC Under 12 Boys Yellow
Despite the chilly conditions in Wangaratta, the young guns from Cobram Roar under-12 Yellow continued their unbeaten run with an impressive 5-0 victory over Wangaratta City FC on the weekend.
Cobram wasted no time making their mark, with Nate Hemingway striking in the opening two minutes to give the visitors an early lead. Hemingway was in outstanding form and completed a first-half hat-trick, proving too dangerous for the Wangaratta defence to contain.
Nathanael Sutton also found the back of the net before the break as Cobram stormed to a commanding 4-0 half time advantage.
The second half saw a much stronger and more physical Wangaratta side take the field, lifting their intensity and applying pressure across the park. Despite the improved effort from the home side, Cobram’s defence stood tall and goalkeeper Uday Singh produced a strong performance between the posts to ensure the clean sheet remained intact.
Frankie Lean added the only goal of the second half to cap off another dominant display from the ladder leaders.
The result keeps Cobram Roar firmly on top of the table in what has already been an outstanding season for the young side. Remarkably, this is the team’s first year competing at this level, yet they remain undefeated and continue to impress week after week with their teamwork, resilience and attacking flair.
Cobram will now turn their attention to next week’s home clash against Albury Hotspurs, where they will look to continue their winning momentum in front of their home supporters.

Wangaratta City FC Under 14 Girls 0-5 Cobram Roar FC Under 14 Girls
After a thrilling performance on Friday night, the Cobram Roar under-14 girls backed it up with another dominant display on the road against Wangaratta City, securing an impressive 5-0 victory.
Cobram came out firing from the opening whistle, immediately putting Wangaratta under pressure with outstanding teamwork, communication, and skill across the park. The girls worked tirelessly together, controlling possession and creating scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Evie Hemingway led the charge up front with two goals, while Alexis Stewart, Indi Hemingway, and Mia Hayward each added a goal to complete the commanding win.
The midfielders and defenders played a crucial role in the victory, consistently moving the ball up the pitch and shutting down Wangaratta’s attacking chances. Their strong defensive pressure and smooth transition play allowed Cobram to maintain control for the entire game.
It was a complete team performance from the Roar girls, who continue to build momentum with their hard work, determination, and excellent team spirit.
Wangaratta City FC Under 14 Boys 1-1 Cobram Roar FC
After a three-week break from competition, the Cobram Roar under-14 Boys returned to action with a determined performance in a 1-1 draw away against Wangaratta.
Cobram travelled to Wangaratta eager to make a strong return and quickly showed their intent, controlling much of the attacking play throughout the match. The Roar consistently pushed forward, creating several opportunities and spending long periods applying pressure inside their attacking half.
Despite Cobram’s strong start, it was Wangaratta who struck first, finding the back of the net late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
The Roar responded positively after half time, lifting their intensity and continuing to dominate possession and field position. Their persistence was rewarded in the second half when Cobram finally broke through for a deserved equaliser from Abel Stilo after sustained attacking pressure.
Cobram continued to press for a winner in the closing stages, but despite having most of the attacking ball and creating the better chances, they were unable to find the decisive goal.
Although disappointed not to secure all three points, the Roar showed resilience and strong teamwork in their first game back after the extended break, with plenty of positives to take into their upcoming matches.

Wangaratta City FC Division 2 Women 4-1 Cobram Roar FC Division 2 Women
The Cobram Roar Division 2 Women put in a spirited performance despite going down 4-1 to ladder leaders Wangaratta on the weekend.
The Roar showed plenty of determination throughout the match and enjoyed long periods of possession, taking the game to one of the competition’s strongest sides. Cobram moved the ball well and created several promising opportunities, but were unable to capitalise in front of goal.
Casey Chandler scored the Roar’s lone goal, finishing off a strong attacking passage to reward the side’s persistent effort.
While the scoreboard didn’t reflect the effort put in, Cobram continued to work hard until the final whistle and showed encouraging signs against quality opposition. The Roar will look to build on their strong passages of play and turn possession into results in the coming rounds.

Wangaratta City FC Division 1 Men 4-3 Cobram Roar FC Division 1 Men
Cobram Roar showed tremendous character, despite falling 4-3 in a dramatic contest on Sunday against Wangaratta City.
After trailing 2-0 midway through the second half, the Roar stormed back into the match with three quick goals to take the lead late in the game.
Jake Kalz sparked the comeback in the 74th minute before Henry Suimae levelled the scores only a minute later. Dalesa Goodwin then finished off the turnaround in the 79th minute to put Cobram ahead 3-2.
The Roar continued to battle hard under intense late pressure and were eventually reduced to 10 men in stoppage time.
In a heartbreaking finish, Cobram conceded twice in stoppage time to narrowly go down 4-3 after an inspiring second-half fightback.
