Just like some businesses got to start operating and then found themselves closed down again, so too our bowls started and then was cancelled – but only by the weather.
But in pandemic-response parlance, weather permitting, we will “pivot” and be back at it later in the week. With no games played on Friday or Saturday in the Murray Playing Area it means that points available for the matches were shared.

Meanwhile, earlier in the week we had our first 2-4-2 mixed pairs on Tuesday at 10 am. We played two games and the club-selected pairing of Carol Doherty and Danny Andersen were the only two-game winners. Best second game went to Barb Turner and Jeanette Liersch. Also on Tuesday, there was a hive of activity over on the Alan Rowley (AKA number 3) Green with the working bee to core the green in preparation for the addition of sand and laser levelling. Thanks to all helpers. While the rain stopped us bowling, hopefully it will have done some good to help bring the green back ready for play.
Wednesday saw the first of the state event qualifiers played at Numurkah Golf in the over-60s ladies and men’s singles. Jenny Warfe is through to the semi-finals to be played this Wednesday after defeating Sue Hodge and Robyn Hodgkin. Good bowling Jenny.
The draw for the State Mixed Pairs to be played on Sunday, November 21, at Berrigan, and the draw for the state 60-and-over pairs to be played on Wednesday, November 24, at Tocumwal can be found at the link previously shown, as can all the results.
