Cobram made the perfect start when Frankie Lean found the back of the net early in the first half before Billy Daniel doubled the advantage shortly after.
Although the Roar controlled much of the game, they weren’t at their fluent best. At times the boys held onto the ball too long and moved it slower than usual. Cooper Daniel worked tirelessly in attack and was unlucky not to add his name to the scoresheet after creating several promising opportunities.
Defensively, the Roar were outstanding, keeping Wodonga scoreless for the match. Kai Ramsdale was a rock in defence, making countless important stops, while Wallace Hargrave played a vital role through the midfield, linking defence and attack and keeping the team moving forward.

Cobram Roar FC Division 2 Men 2-3 Wodonga Diamonds Division 2 Men
As in previous weeks, a number of the Division 3 team who ran out with the Division 2 side had a very short break before re-joining the field for the Division 2 game – a match of two distinct halves, which ultimately saw them fall to defeat.
On a ground that struggled to hold-up against relentless rain during the week, Roar went in at halftime two goals to the good, with Michael Davies scoring a composed finish through a sea of players from the edge of the area following a corner. In rather more fortuitous circumstances, Menotti Vescio also got on the scoresheet after chasing down a through ball – it cannoning into him from the keeper’s clearance and finding its way into the net off the post.
The winds of fortune changed at halftime, with Diamonds firstly slotting home over the keeper from the left wing and then scoring from a header at the edge of the 6-yard box, a goal that seemed to run in slow motion.
The winning goal came later in the game after some sustained pressure from Diamonds to leave the Roar team deflated after such a positive start and a quiet dressing room on their return to it.
