Benalla Hockey Club’s club awards were taken out by Lee Manning and Sophie Littler (Best Clubpeople) and Jack Chittick (under-18 Player of the Year), while the Family Award was presented to Jack, Andrea and John Chittick.
The Benalla Hockey Club celebrated a fantastic 2026 season on Saturday, September 19 with their Presentation Day held at the Benalla Gardens Tennis Club, with a delicious lunch donated by Spot 4 Ice Cream.

The Bernice O’Brien U18 Player of the Year Jack Chittick.

Bernice O’Brien U18 Player of the Year – Jack Chittick – for skilled play in under-16s, Junior Country Championships and SYC Men’s teams.
The Junior Best First Year Player award was presented to Charlee Lambden.
Junior Best First Year Player – Charlee Lambden – for vast improvement in confidence and skills by playing competition in her first year of hockey.
Annie Fraser Best Sportswoman – Heidi Perry – for exceptional sportsmanship encouraging players and the team as well as skilled play in the forward line.
The John Nicholls Memorial Family Award was presented to the Chittick Family (Jack, Andrea and John).

Junior Club Person – Sophie Littler – for supporting the Club with coaching at Hockey Roadshow, Hook In2 Hockey, Stick 2 Hockey and under-8’s; working bees and setting up for Presentations.

David Berry Best Club Person – Lee Manning (voted by members) – for coaching, umpiring, media, grants and especially for her endless effort supporting every player and coordinating all levels of the Club.

President Lee thanked the outgoing volunteer committee of secretary Liz, treasurers Bec and Sharon, and members Shelley, Pria, Ethan and Tia.
Members voted in the new committee of: president - Lee Manning, vice president - Tia Keen, secretary - Liz Hayes, treasurer - Sharon Thompson, and members Pria Johnson, Ethan Start, Cassandra Wright and David Keen, who are excited to prepare for Benalla Hockey’s 100th birthday in 2027.
