A car that was allegedly stolen in a carjacking in Tatura on Friday, September 25, crashed 30 minutes later after a police chase.
Police allege a male threatened the car owner with a knife on Doller Crt in Tatura before stealing their vehicle about 8.31am.
The male took off in the Land Rover, before driving towards Ardmona, police said.
Officers pursued the vehicle before it crashed near Turnbull Rd and the Midland Hwy just after 9am, police said.
The driver, a 20-year-old Shepparton man, was flown to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne in a serious condition with upper-body injuries.
The passenger, a 17-year-old from the Greater Shepparton area, was transported to Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton by ambulance in a stable condition with upper and lower body injuries.
The pair were arrested by police and are expected to be interviewed by police at a later stage.
