Victorian Seniors Festival is coming to Moira Shire this month.

Select from a range of free events from carpet bowls to creating graphite charcoal artwork with a visiting artist.

Moira Shire Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said it is more important than ever for Moira Shire’s seniors to stay active and connect socially.

“This year’s program is packed with free activities that everyone can enjoy,” Dr Emonson said.

He said it was fantastic to have all five senior citizens clubs across Moira Shire on board.

“We thank the Cobram, Yarrawonga, Tungamah, Nathalia and Numurkah senior citizens clubs for their efforts in planning this fantastic program.”

This year’s theme is Explore. Engage. Evolve.

Entering its 42nd year, the festival encourages seniors to step outside the everyday routine and embrace novel activities and meet new people.

Readers can pick up a copy of the festival’s program from their local Senior Citizens Centre, or visit council’s website for more information at Council and Community Events Moira Shire.
