There might be new faces about, but that’s about the only thing that will change after Presto Pasta & Pizza officially changed hands this month.

After 22 years of steering the beloved family restaurant, former owner Tony Startari will be stepping back and handing the reins to new owners Jay Makadia, Varchit Patel and Snehal Patel.
To let go of the restaurant was a hard decision for Tony, whose family has poured over two decades of love and dedication into the restaurant.
“The most satisfying thing is it’s been a family business. It’s been a family business to the core,” Tony said.
He’s proud of the work his wife, Dianne, and their three sons, Michael, Chris and Mark, have put into the restaurant over the years.
“All the boys have had a go running it, and they’ve done really well out of it. They’ve done a good job. Chris came in to help us out for three months, and he was here for three years nearly,” Tony said.

Jay, Varchit and Snehal, meanwhile, arrive at Presto with extensive experience in running their own family establishment.
For the past 15 years, the friends have run a pizza restaurant — coincidentally called ‘Tony’s Pizza’ — in Kyabram.
Looking for the next opportunity, the trio came across Presto Pasta & Pizza and sensed immediately the restaurant, with its clean and well cared-for interior, was the right place for them.
Jay, Varchit and Snehal said they were excited to take up the reins at Presto.
“Customers can expect the same quality, for the same price, with the same staff,” Jay said.
“It will be exactly the same. We don’t want to change anything.”
And while Tony might no longer be behind the wheel, he will still pop in and help out when he can.
“We’d like to thank all our valued customers over the last 22 years and the staff that we’ve had,” he said.
“And we wish Jay, Varchit and Snehal all the best and hope they do really well and kick a lot of goals.”
