In partnership with Section51, an independent, Canberra-based organisation that provides grant application support, council’s workshop will teach residents how to successfully apply for local, Victorian and Australian government grants.
Attendees will walk away with an understanding of how to write an application that speaks to the right reader, how to craft a compelling, positive story that assessors want to read, and how to use evidence and attachments to back up their application.
The workshop will also address reporting on grants and setting yourself up for future funding success.
Council chief executive Matthew Morgan said the workshop provided an excellent opportunity to learn from an expert.
“A grant application needs to tell a story, not just ask for funding, and that story needs to align with government policy objectives,” Mr Morgan said.
“Colin Steele from Section51 can teach you how to effectively tell your story and understand how competitive your projects will be through grant funding processes.”
Since it was established 16 years ago, Section51 has advised more than 150 councils and their communities across every state and territory, and more than 1500 people have attended the firm’s workshops.
Prospective attendees can choose from two sessions, one in person and the other online.
The in-person workshop will be held at the Cobram Civic Centre on Wednesday, July 29 between 5.30pm and 7pm, and can be booked via trybooking.com/events/landing/1614067
