The Tocumwal Girls Shed group recommences their meetings tomorrow at 9.30am.
This group welcomes everyone to come along to the Lions Community Care Centre on Adams St (the old Bowling Club), through the back door of the building, with any craft you might be working on.
The group has a good Janome machine you can use if required, as well as an Accuquilt fabric cutting machine purchased through a community grant from Strawberry Fields Festival. This allows for faster cutting of appliqués and strips.
There is an array of experienced sewers, knitters, and mixed media people on hand to give you help and tips on your chosen craft.
They also cover quilting, card making, painting, gardening, crochet and have a dyeing day to dye fabrics for their projects.
Suggested projects for 2023 also include mosaics and macramé.
The members of the Girls Shed support local charities, with Can Assist being their chosen charity to support in 2023. A handmade quilt will be raffled.
Volunteers braved the heat at the Tocumwal Foreshore Market on the weekend just gone and thank the market goers for their generous support of the raffle.
Tickets are still for sale at the Tocumwal Ice Creamery and Tocumwal Tourist Information Centre for $5 each, with the draw to be made at the March long weekend market.
The Girls Shed meet weekly on a Thursday, with the first visit free for new members. Fees are $7 a week after that.
Come along for some crafty time, or even just for a coffee and morning tea and to meet some new friends. Bring your lunch with you to enjoy with the group.
