Among them is eastern grey kangaroo joey Foggerty, who was rescued late at night after his mother was struck by a vehicle and left badly injured on the road.
Shelter owner Kylee Donkers said some lovely people stopped to help, safely moving the mother to the roadside before calling her for assistance.
“A trip that would normally only take 40 minutes took just over an hour as the fog was so thick,” she said.
“When I arrived, unfortunately mama kangaroo had just taken her last breath but the lovely family had the little joey all wrapped up and warm inside their car.
Once Foggerty was taken back to the shelter, he was found to have a small leg fracture.
“He is doing extremely well and managing with his plaster on,” Kylee said.
“He is a little male but as my husband James says ‘he’s tough enough to wear pink!’
“We currently have seven little ones all around the same size in care so little Foggerty has lots of friends.
“He should make a full recovery.”
Kylee thanked everyone who had made a donation towards their ‘Go Pink’ campaign so far.
