Corowa’s much-loved cinema has reopened in time for the school holidays.
The new board at Corowa Golf Club has wasted no time fulfilling its promise to drive the golf course forward into a new era, with a junior golf program, cash prizes and the re-opening of the cinema all taking centre stage on the weekend.

The cinema also opened its doors with a host of kids movies, just in time for the holidays.
The club mailed out 100 keys to listed members the previous week with an invitation to come down to the club on September 18 and try out the key on a locked ‘treasure chest’ to potentially win $300 cash.
The Friday night giveaway saw a packed clubhouse buying drinks over the bar, wood-fired pizza for dinner, and grabbing raffle tickets.
The new Tiger Cubs junior golfing program teed off on Saturday, with program leader Warren Furlong taking parents and kids through an information and registration session that included free club membership for juniors who signed up to the program.
Warren said the new program was aimed at teaching kids the golfing basics and accelerating their progress through continued use of the course and its facilities.
A new program has launched to teach kids the basics of golf and secure the future of the club.
“We want kids to know that the adults want them out on the golf course,” he said.
“They’re the future of this club.
“We’ve got nine holes not currently in use off the back course; we’ll get two or three of them ready so the kids with memberships can come out and practice any time without worrying that they’re getting in the way of other golfers.
“They can join the main course as they improve their skills; my goal is to get them all playing nine holes and get them a handicap.”
After the session, Warren took the kids out to the driving range with free golf ball tokens and club hire so they could get into the swing of things straight away.
Another session will be held this Saturday at 11am.
