Moira Shire Council has joined with local emergency services, response agencies, support organisations and community groups to organise the expo for Saturday, November 14.
The expo can help you prepare before, during and after emergencies and natural disasters.
Learn practical ways to protect your family, pets, property, business and community while building your emergency preparedness plan.
Moira Shire Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said one of the lessons learned from recent emergencies — the 2022 floods and the January 2026 grass fire — was the importance of being prepared before disaster struck.
“As we support our community to recover, we want to boost everyone’s resilience and capacity to cope with whatever nature throws at us next,” he said.
“This expo will help you do that. I encourage families, individuals, farmers and business owners to come along and learn how to keep themselves and their community safe.”
The Moira Ready Community Safety and Resilience Expo will be held at Federation Park in Cobram, from 9am to 3pm on Saturday, November 14.
There’s plenty on offer for the whole family, all at no cost.
The first 200 visitors will receive a free show bag, the first 100 visitors will enjoy a free coffee, and lunch is free for all visitors.
There will be many fun activities for the kids, including face painting.
“Emergencies don’t come with a warning, but being prepared can make all the difference,” Dr Emonson said.
“As well as this expo, Moira Shire’s online Emergency Dashboard is a valuable resource to help the community stay informed and prepared.”
