The program continues to support grassroots initiatives that strengthen the local community.
Two funding streams are available: Major Community Grants of up to $7000 and Minor Community Grants of up to $3000, providing flexible support for projects of varying sizes.
Benalla Mayor Bernie Hearn, said the program plays an important role in supporting local volunteers and organisations.
“Our community grants program is about backing the ideas and projects that bring people together, build local skills and contribute to the wellbeing of our community,” Cr Hearn said.
“We’re proud to continue supporting the volunteers and organisations who work tirelessly to make Benalla Rural City a vibrant place to live.”
Cr Hearn encouraged organisations to start preparing their applications.
“These grants can make a real difference in turning good ideas into meaningful outcomes,” she said.
“I encourage eligible groups to review the guidelines and put forward their applications.
“We look forward to seeing a diverse range of projects that reflect the strength and spirit of our community.”
Organisations can only receive a major community grant once every three years.
While groups may apply for both categories, funding will only be awarded through one tier.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their application with council’s community Development team.
It will host drop-in sessions during March in Benalla’s Town Hall.
