Nicola Dainton, her partner, Mohammad Beet Sayed, and his brother Asad are the proud owners of Talk of the Town Barbershop, which officially opened on Saturday, April 18.
Mohammad already owns a barber business in Numurkah, making the Cobram location his second.
Many of his Numurkah clients travel from Cobram, prompting him to open the new shop.
Nicola said they really liked the town of Cobram and everyone was “lovely”.
“The people here are just something else,” she said.

“It really does feel like the best supportive community, and even when we were doing the renovations, so many people would just pop in, have a chat and say how excited they were for us.
“It was really nice.”
Nicola said it had been a mission trying to find the perfect location in Cobram, taking longer than a year.
“We ended up getting in touch with Amanda Ramsey from Andrew Jenkins, and she was just amazing,” she said.
Nicola said the business received council approval on Friday afternoon, and she posted on the Cobram community Facebook page at about 11pm, announcing a 10am opening the next day.
“I thought, probably no-one’s going to see it, it’s too late, and then I woke up in the morning to 140 likes and all these comments,” she said.

“I was shocked.
“There were people lining up at the door and by 10 minutes past there were 11 people either getting their hair cut or waiting to get it cut.”
Nicola said business had been booming, with 150 clients in the first four days, adding that they aimed to make the barbershop the best it could be and were open to feedback.
“The main thing we want to do in the shop is make everyone feel welcome,” Nicola said.
“Making people feel seen and actually asking them what they want is super important to us.
“Quality haircuts, timely service and good communication, that's what we strive for.”

Nicola said they had already met lots of local business owners and had been welcomed with open arms.
“It's the people that you get to meet and the connections you make that make all the hard work worth it,” she said.
Nicola said they were hiring, and encouraged people to come in and have a chat.
