The concrete was laid and the last bolt and bar was secured when Arts for All unveiled its latest larger-than-life contribution to the Cobram community on Wednesday, June 4.
With hues of green, red, yellow and a dash of blue, the roughly 8ft tall replica of the male eastern rosella, built by Tank and Tobin Sculpture Works, greets passers-by with its head cocked ever so slightly in a tribute to the bird’s inquisitive nature.

Arts for All president June Wood and secretary Christie Molinaro were enthused over the result, which was almost a year in the making.
“It looks awesome. The maintenance guys did a great job putting it in and installing it. Same to Dean, who did the concreting for it — he did an amazing job. So overall, we’re really happy with it,” Mrs Molinaro said.
The group was inspired to further contribute to Cobram’s art scene by extending the existing trail of bird sculptures in the district.
Tank and Tobin Sculpture Works recently installed, together with the Strathmerton Steering Committee, a superb parrot statue outside the Mail Box Cafe in Strathmerton.
“We had lots of comments asking why we couldn’t have something like that in Cobram,” Mrs Molinaro said.
There’s hope the latest sculpture will draw even more tourists to the area.
“That’s one of the things you want — for them to come and go from one lot to the next one and have a bit of a trail, like the silos, but with bird sculptures,” Mrs Molinaro said.
