SKD Martial Arts hosted the final North East Martial Arts Championships and Cobram Classic Seminar and Tournament for 2026 on Sunday, August 30, at the Cobram Dojo.

Five different martial arts centres were represented at the championships by instructors, students and families.
SKD Martial Arts founder and NEMAC co-founder Luke Falzon said the event brought together a community of over 100 passionate and dedicated practitioners and spectators at the centre in Cobram.
“It was a fantastic event, with great displays of skill, dedication and lots of smiles,” he said.
“A special congratulations to the junior and senior SKD Martial Arts Yarrawonga and Cobram students who demonstrated incredible technique and values.”
NEMAC has been offering martial arts events across north-east Victoria since 2022 and has grown to include more than seven martial arts clubs across the region
“We welcome junior and senior students from all styles and affiliations, we offer inclusive, fun and welcoming events across the border,” Mr Falzon said.
“It’s an opportunity for students of all ages to join a fun, local event, get some competition experience and meet new friends.”
Mr Falzon has been operating SKD Martial Arts for over 13 years and said they welcomed any new or returning students who would like to try traditional martial arts training in a family-friendly environment across Cobram and surrounds.
“We look forward to offering another great event series in 2027 across the border,” he said.
