Almighty bang: Car slams into three parked vehicles

“I heard an almighty bang and thought my roof might be falling down."

That's how one Dickson St resident described the moment a car careened into three parked vehicles before smashing into a fence in Echuca this morning.

Police and CFA crews were called to the four-vehicle crash on Dickson St about 10.30am.

Investigators believe a 33-year-old driver lost control of a blue vehicle while travelling south-east towards town, clipping three parked cars before crashing through the fence of a short-stay accommodation property.

Police said the driver returned a negative breath test at the scene and that speed was not believed to have played a role in the collision.

Despite the significant damage, no-one was injured. Ambulance Victoria crews attended, but no-one needed treatment.

While charges are not expected, police are considering a licence review to determine whether a medical episode or underlying health condition may have contributed to the crash.

A tow truck later removed the damaged vehicles, while part of the south-east bound lane of Dickson St was temporarily closed as emergency services cleared the scene.

Traffic continued to flow in both directions during the operation.
