The New Life Bible Church congregation has been meeting for two years in the Tallygaroopna public hall on Sundays.
The congregation recently concluded the purchase of a block of land at 3 Taylor St, Wunghnu.
Senior pastor Gideon Nyangela said the church was a Bible-loving and evengelical congregation focused on connecting people to Jesus Christ through Bible teachings and worship.
It is affiliated with the Australian Christian Churches, the largest Pentecostal movement in Australia.
Pastor Gideon said that although they predominantly catered for African families, the meetings were open to anyone from any background.
The pentecostal services are characterised by animated preaching and vibrant singing.
Although the services are mostly in the Swahili language, there are interpreters for English speakers.
Pastor Gideon said the church was active in community engagement and provided educational programs in reconciliation, refugee integration and legal awareness for people from various backgrounds regardless of age, gender, religion, race or ethnicity.
The church provides support services for new migrants, including transport, kitchenware, food and clothing.
Pastor Gideon said the long-term goal was to create a sanctuary where everyone felt accepted and belonged to, where lives were transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and with the goal to expand the Kingdom of God in Australia and beyond.
