Mr Cotterell has been one of the driving forces behind the Lions ‘Need for Feed project.
Some members have driven thousands of kilometres, distributing hampers to families affected by droughts and floods in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia. They have found this to be a-life changing experience.
Mr Ndlovu installed the new 2019-20 office bearers — president Darren Laffan, secretary Chris Mitchell and treasurer David Stillard. Jean Dodd continues as Ginya Court Retirement Village treasurer.
The club presented $5000 cheques to various worthy recipients in Cobram and Barooga.
The club also donated $1000 to Barooga Public School for a student leaving primary education to help with costs at high school.
The student was selected not on academic achievement, but one who was dedicated and had a strong desire to progress.
Irvin House received $3000 towards the cost of replacing its bus, which was so important to transport residents to various outings was and also available for people in need of transport within the community to attend medical appointments, etc.
Throughout the year various requests were received to help financially and where possible this was done.
Barooga Lions Club has achieved this through its continual fundraising efforts and will be working hard again this coming year.
