Born Audrey Ritchie in 1919, she was the youngest of five daughters for George Ritchie and Catherine Hutson.
Her father’s side of the family has roots in the region, dating back to the mid-19th century, when Samual Ritchie and his wife Eliza Wilmot settled on land between Cobram and Koonoomoo.
Mrs Radcliffe attended Koonoomoo State School, before finishing her education aged 13 to help on her family’s mixed farm.
She married Korumburra businessman John Radcliffe in 1941 and the couple had four daughters — Janet, Georgia, Glenda and Marilyn..
As well as working at the department style store Brown, Corke and Co in Cobram, Mrs Radcliffe took on a number of roles within the community and was a significant figure in the establishment of the town’s first kindergarten and swimming pool.
While her husband died in 1990, Mrs Radcliffe will celebrate her special day with many friends and family at Grassmere, the family’s original property at Koonoomoo.
Mrs Radcliffe will celebrate with her daughters, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who will visit from across Victoria, NSW, NT and the ACT.
