Cobram doctor Cristina Dumitrescu, who has led the changes, believes the extended hours will lead to better health outcomes within the community by improving access. She was delighted to have three medical practices working together, which showed the clinics were working in the best interest of the community. ‘‘There is a real need in the community for after hours appointments,’’ Dr Dumitrescu said. ‘‘Longer opening hours will allow us to support people who are not able to get away from work or school for appointment. ‘‘It will allow us to relieve some of the pressure on the urgent care clinic. ‘‘It is really great to have everyone working together, they are a good bunch of people who really see the value in this.’’
