Describing the move as the chance to "put some roots down" after a whirlwind year that included her surprise wedding to musician Christian Lee Hutson, Maya, 27, said she is now living in the same upstate New York community where she grew up while filming a new television adaptation of The God of the Woods.
The actress and singer, whose parents are Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke recently married Christian during a private Valentine's Day ceremony in New York City.
"I just got myself a home a couple of blocks away from my mom," Hawke told People.
"I'm so excited to finally be able to put some roots down."
Her home purchase coincided with her filming Netflix's adaptation of Liz Moore's bestselling novel The God of the Woods, which is being shot across the Hudson River Valley and the Adirondack Mountains.
Hawke land a role on the show as she continues to build a career beyond her breakout role as Robin Buckley in Netflix's global hit Stranger Things, with the series having wrapped production on its fifth and final season in 2025.
Hawke's latest project sees her play Judy Luptack, the first female investigator in a male-dominated Bureau of Criminal Investigation who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of a 13-year-old girl from a summer camp.
Kerry Condon stars as Alice Van Laar, the missing child's mother.
According to Netflix, the series is "a multigenerational drama series set in the Adirondacks" that explores the Van Laar family's history, class divisions and the disappearance of Barbara Van Laar, whose case uncovers long-buried secrets.
"It shoots in the town that I grew up in," Hawke said.
"I am so excited to be at home doing a job I love and care about, so I'm not in that panic spiral of being home and being like, 'When will I ever work again?'
"Usually it's like, you're home, and you're panicked about whether you'll ever work again, or you're not home, and you're working and you miss home. I feel like I have the best summer of my life going on, where I get to experience neither thing at the same time."
