Around the courts

Strathmerton Netball Club played in two preliminary finals on Saturday.

B-grade

Won 67-40.

A strong first quarter gave us a good lead which we were able to keep working at and extend throughout the game.

Our defensive pressure all over the court created many turnovers which we were able to bring steadily down to our goalers to convert, being patient and working it around the ring.

We came out firing and our drive and determination got us the spot in the grand final against Mathoura.

Well done girls, we’ve worked so hard, now let’s finish it off strong.

Under-17

Won 41-23.

The girls went out knowing it was going to be a tough game on Saturday but never gave up a fight until the last whistle.

In the First quarter nerves showed from the Bulldogs, which led to them being down when the whistle blew, so they knew they had to give it their all going into the second quarter.

With a hard fight and a great pep talk the girls found their feet in the second and third quarter which led to a huge win of 17 goals at the end of the day.

Thanks to the girls who sat on the bench and our amazing supporters who helped us get to this point and most of all the Toc girls who gave us a good challenge.
