The Biggest Morning Tea is returning to the East Shepparton Bowls Club to raise money for the Cancer Council. Attendees can expect a day of raffles, games and prizes to be won. GV Health Foundation ambassador and bowel cancer survivor Vicki Scott will return as a guest speaker and will be joined by Jayne Walters. Of course, there will also be a spread of delicious morning tea treats prepared by the members of the bowls club.

Yeah Nah - Broken Creek album launch
Head on a musical road trip across old and new Australia with a performance from local folk duo Broken Creek as they launch their second album, Yeah Nah. Erin Heycox on the fiddle/singing, Lachlan Heycox on the banjo/guitar, and Melbourne-based musician Tom Flenady on double bass will bring a blended folk-and-country sound to the G.R.A.I.N Store stage, with surprise guest musicians joining them throughout the concert. Expect to hear songs about small-town Australia, tunes inspired by the land and re-interpretations of traditional Australian bush ballads.

Monster Garage Sale
Grab a bargain at Mooroopna’s largest annual garage sale. All proceeds will be given to local and broader charitable works and organisations. Snack on a snag on the way in, or relax over a cuppa in the garden. Make it a morning out and support some good work being done.

Tatura Community Townwide Monster Garage Sale
Now in its seventh year, the Tatura Community Townwide Monster Garage Sale brings in people from all over the state. Sixty garage sales took place last year, with numbers set to grow this year. The popular event is where Tatura residents can register their garage sale at the Tatura Community House. All of them are then displayed on a map, and participants can pick and choose what sales they want to browse.

Tatura Market
The new Tatura Market promises a lively and welcoming atmosphere. This community market offers a variety of entertainment, including storytelling, wildlife exploration, an Australian petting zoo and a visit from Tatura firefighters with their fire truck. The market aims to showcase the region’s finest, featuring local produce, artisan goods, handmade jewellery, homewares and distinctive items. You can also explore Tatura’s food and beverage scene on Hogan St and in the surrounding areas.

Explore and relish the beauty of the Australian Botanic Gardens with a guided talk about the journey the area has been on, through many connected stories you will come to know and love. Australian native plants set among distinct themed gardens and bushland that celebrates the history and diversity of the region will be showcased. There will be tea and coffee at the end of the talk, and guests are invited to stay a while after to fully explore the gardens in all their glory.

Do you remember? Drawn from Memory - Community art project
The Murchison community has joined forces to run creative workshops to bring people interested in visual arts together, where they will paint, draw and explore aspects of their personal past and local history. Local Goulburn Valley artists Philip Hickingbotham, Kerry Handwerk and Judith Roberts will help participants explore their acrylic landscape painting, gouache still-life painting, book-making and textiles/mixed media skills. No experience is required, but a willingness to have fun and learn from skilled artists is essential.

St Brendan’s Parish Feast Day celebrations
Foster a sense of community and bring new life to the parish at St Brendan’s Catholic Church as they hold feast day celebrations and a parish expo. The gathering will celebrate the parish’s many groups and activities, including friendship, prayer, faith formation, music, married couples, liturgy, social outreach, youth and children. A barbecue lunch will be available on the day, as well as soups and slices, and musical entertainment by parish school groups and the faith and light community as you join in the celebrations.

Walk for Midwives
Sunday, May 5, marks the International Day of the Midwife, and to show appreciation for the dedicated profession, Goulburn Valley Health is hosting a walk at Victoria Park Lake to celebrate. Nanna Marce’s food truck and Fast Brew Coffee will be there, so pack a picnic blanket and make a day of it. Whether you’re looking for an excuse to get in some exercise or enjoy a picnic, head to the lake to celebrate the essential work midwives do.
