James Milton Williams
26 July 1957 – 4 April 2026

It is with deep sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of James Milton Williams, who left us on 4 April 2026 at 11:00am—on the 45th wedding anniversary of himself and his beloved wife, Christine, at the very hour they were married.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Christine Helen Williams, his three sons, Benjamin James Williams, Jacob Daniel Williams, and Dean Vivian Williams, and his cherished grandson, Finnley James Williams.

James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend—someone who embodied strength, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. He was the kind of man you could always turn to: for guidance, for a listening ear, or simply for quiet support without judgement. He gave his time freely to those he loved, and even to those connected to them—opening his home and his heart to ensure no one ever felt alone.

A man of deep family values, James always made sure there was a place where his sons and their friends could feel safe, supported, and looked after. He believed in being present, in watching over those he loved, and in creating a home that others could rely on.

For over 40 years, James worked as a train driver—dedicating himself not out of passion, but out of love. It was the path he chose to provide for his family, and he did so with pride, commitment, and quiet sacrifice. His greatest achievement was not his career, but the family he built and the men his sons grew to become—men he was deeply proud of.

James had a deep love for music, often saying it was one of the greatest things humanity had ever created, capable of helping anyone through even the toughest of times. He was a passionate supporter of AFL, especially his beloved Collingwood Magpies, and had a lifelong love for all things motorsport—most especially motorbikes and motorbike racing.

He found peace in nature, in animals, and in the idea of a quiet life surrounded by the people and world he loved most.
Above all, James wanted his family to be happy, to look after one another, and to stay close. Even in his final moments, this is what mattered most to him.
He will be remembered for his reliability, his strength, his compassion, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. His presence shaped countless lives, and his legacy will live on through the family he cherished so deeply.

As James would always say,
“See ya when I’m looking at ya. OI!"

He will be forever loved and never forgotten.

Love you.
