Netball
Under-11s
We played a great game against the Deni minis and really showed off all that we are learning.
A top effort from all involved today. Great work girls
Alyssah Wilson was awarded the $10 Chester family award for a stellar performance in defence.
Rosie Stokes received the canteen award for her excellent defending and Abbie Graham was awarded the Mars Bar for her good game on the wings.
Under-13s
Lost 4-28
As predicted, our match against Deni was tough right from the first whistle.
We fought hard and did produce some great netball but went down, four goals to 28.
Accurate passing will be our focus at training this week.
Ashlee Dyson earned herself the Crestani Concreting $10 cash award for her stand out game at goal defence.
Giselle Wren also played a solid defensive game to receive the canteen award and Eva Laidlaw was awarded the $5 cash from the Shannon family for her efforts in the centre.
Under-15s
Lost 8-50
It was great to be back at home for a tough fight against ladder leader Deni.
The girls worked hard trying some different positions and passages of play.
Fingers crossed next week the score board is more in our favour.
Awards: Taylar Knight (Crestani Concreting); Amy Wyatt (Mars Bar)
Under-17s
Lost 21-53
Yet another week where the score definitely doesn’t reflect the effort that the girls put in out on the court.
We did have a rocky start and coming up against a strong Deni side definitely didn’t help.
We managed to put in a solid last half but we really need to work on our consistency and playing all four quarters to our full potential.
Awards: Thalia Woodlands (Crestani Concreting); Jaella Coghill-Lynamm, Sarah Brooks (Mars Bar)
C-reserve
Lost 31-33
Well girls, what a fantastic effort, we may not have won the game but we certainly gave it a red hot crack.
So very proud of every single one of you. Keep giving it your all and we will get another win soon.
Thanks Deni for a great game, you were a lovely bunch of girls to play against. Also thanks to Sarah Brooks for filling in and Mikayla Kelly for her very first senior game, you both did a fantastic job.
Awards: Soph Metaxas (Supreme Meats); Loz Hickey (Strathy Pub); Amy Duhring (Chester family $10)
C-grade
Lost 21-59
The score does reflect the effort the girls put in. Everyone played their role but the Deni girls were just too good.
The defence was forced to work tirelessly.
Tamara Speechley won the Ambience award after being thrown in the deep end having to play centre.
It was a great game with lots of positives to go off for next time.
B-grade
Won 41-17
We went into this game expecting a very tight contest but after a blistering start we set the scene for a solid win at home.
From the get go our defensive pressure across the court was fantastic. , which then allowed Sarah Preston and Joy Maher plenty of opportunities to get multiple tips and intercepts.
It was such an incredible team win with everyone playing their role and supporting each other throughout the entire game.
At times we got a little carried away and frantic bringing the ball down the court so we’ll continue working on slowing down and settling once we’ve got ball in hand.
We’d like to extend our best wishes to the Deni player who went down in the second quarter with a dislocated shoulder - all the best with your recovery.
Awards: Sarah Preston (Railway Hotel); Joy Maher (Supreme Meats)
A-grade
Won 35-34
It was a tight tussle today at home again against Deni.
It was a bit of team spirit and a few positive vibes that got us across the line.
Our defensive pressure again right down the court was impressive and we ended up one goal up at the last whistle.
Jem Ryan showed great poise taking a few vital intercepts and earning herself a best-on-court award, thanks to the Strathy Pub.
A great team effort to get over the line with plenty of one-percenters all round.

This week we finally had some great rain in the area which made the ground a little damp under foot, something different for the boys rather than the dry grounds.
We had a couple of boys out this week unfortunately, in a match against the higher placed Deniliquin.
Typical of our side this year, the first centre bounce created our first clearance, with the ball kicked straight into our forward line and our first goal scored.
The boys didn’t stop there, quickly getting possession of the ball and into young Bodey Webb’s hands for another goal.
The second quarter saw our opponents start to fight back into the game and it was their turn to hit the score board to get them slightly in the lead at half-time.
Harry Barnes won every ruck contest, with our reliable midfielders Jackson Webb and Mitch Obrien working extremely well together.
Unfortunately our opponents had a little more of the ball and our scoring opportunities dried up a little.
The final term was under way with Cody Harris-Cunningham stopping many of Deniliquin’s attacks and sending the ball back to our end.
Unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough for us to hang onto our early lead.
This being said, the young Bulldogs gave an excellent effort that everyone is very proud of, to take it right up to a top two side really shows what we can do.
Best: Jackson Webb, Harry Barnes, Cody Harris-Cunningham and Bodey Webb. Awards: Jackson Webb (Sports Power); Cody Harris-Cunningham (Crestani Concreting); RJ Patmore (Macca’s $10); Tory Wilson (1% award); Mitch Obrien (coach's award)
Thirds
Llost 1.3 (9)-24.10 (154)
With the sun shining it was great to be back playing on our home ground.
Today was always going to be tough - coming up against powerhouse Deni while we were low on numbers with the captain joining the growing numbers sidelined.
The first quarter saw one of our young fourths players kick our first and only goal for the game, while things continued on the downward spiral with one of our players coming off before half -ime and not rejoining the game.
Defence worked tirelessly, applying pressure with Ryan Wyatt and Clayton Spriggs doing their part in the middle.
Hopefully next week we’ll have more numbers back on the field.
Awards: Caleb Wilson (coach's award); Ryan Wyatt (women's committee); Clayton Spriggs (Crestani Concreting); Maccas - Mitch Easden (Macca's)
Reserves
Won 13.18 (96)-5.3 (33)
Seniors
Won 28.13 (181)-1.8 (14)
With restrictions easing somewhat it was great to be back playing at home after travelling for a few weeks.
The seniors started kicking against a slight breeze, but with a key focus on continuing to build momentum, their running game looked good from the get go, and the defensive side of their game also looked good.
With this continuing throughout the day the boys ran out comfortable winners.
With big scores on the board, there is plenty to like about the forward line.
The midfield players all had plenty of the ball with great service coming from our ruck.
The backline was strong all day with players providing plenty of rebound.
A few big tests coming up in the final part of the season.
